Die
Stadt
Inverness

Inverness, die administrative und kulturelle Hauptstadt des Hochlands ist erst die fünfte Ortschaft in Schottland, der cultural capital of the Highlands, became Scotland's fifth city as part of the millennium celebrations. Known as Inversneckie by the locals, it lies at the north end of the Great Glen, where the River Ness flows into the Moray Firth.

The city has a number of historic buildings, prominent landmarks and wonderful sights and has been a natural focus for lines of communication to and through the Highlands for the last two thousand years.
