COVID-19 has certainly turned the world upside down.
In the last few months, we have only been able to enjoy our beautiful local beaches and forests on our walks with Sherlock. But nothing has been able to stop us from dreaming about the trips to our Highland happy places. And, we are very happy to announce that we are able to welcome you again!
While we are totally excited about this, we are also aware that the virus is still out there.
Keeping you and our communities safe and preventing the spread of the virus is our top priority.
Therefore, we have decided to postpone our “return to normal” until we deem it safe to do so and have created an exciting 2020/21 special:
Bubble Tours by Airts & Pairts
Our Bubble Tours, private bespoke tours in your personal social bubble, are somewhat different to our usual adventures: A socially-distanced, private experience for you and your loved ones only, taking you off the beaten track, into the great Scottish outdoors, and showcasing our fantastic hidden gems and local businesses.
Join us on a Town & Battlefield Walk, a Countryside Ramble around the Tarbat Peninsula, or on the Malt Whisky Trail or on one of our “Chase Me Tours”, self-drive guided tours to hidden gems and our happy places in the area and beyond.
We adhere to the latest government and public health guidance to keep you and us safe and we practice social distancing and maintain the highest hygiene standards on our tours. We have committed to the Good to Go scheme launched by Visit Britain that recognises good practise in following COVID-19 guidelines and have adapted the STGA Good To Go Protocol. Last but not least, we know of so many guests and friends who can’t make it to Scotland yet. Although pleasant anticipation is known to be the best kind of delight, it sometimes can hardly be endured. To relieve the longing of our overseas friends a little, we have put together a selection of virtual tours to some of our favourite places in the Highlands.

Following the latest Scottish Government guidance, we have suspended our live Bubble Tours until at least 28th February 2021.
The government will announce the plans for the road out of lockdown in the next few days and an update will be posted on this page once the plans have been published.

We are able to take you onto our Bubble Tours again.
Overseas Visitors:
We can welcome you again. Travel from some countries to Scotland is now possible, depending on their status: Green, Amber or Red.

COVID-19 Protection Level:
Scotland follows a COVID-19 levels system (0-4).
Current Protection Levels:
Scotland has moved out of the COVID-19 levels system, and is now beyond Level 0.
There are still important safety measures in place that we need to follow and it is still a requirement to wear a face covering in certain settings.

As part of our professional STGA training, we are experts in effective and sensitive group management techniques, on walking tours, in visitor attractions, visitor sites and museums. In addition, the Scottish Tourist Guides Association has created safety guidance for tourist guiding:

We will practise Social Distancing at any time and will follow the latest government guidance to keep you and your loved ones safe.

We will give you advanced notice before the tour begins of how to be safe on the tour, enjoy the tour, and have fun while maintaining Social Distancing and Scottish Government public health advice.

We will apply rigorous hygiene practices, including thoroughly cleaning and waiting for hands to dry before guiding, and use a personal hand sanitiser when this is not possible.

We will be wearing a mask or visor according to Scottish Government recommendations.

We will be familiar with more crowded areas and will make best efforts to negotiate them, or if appropriate, avoid them.

We will carry disinfecting wipes, hand sanitisers, and paper towels.
